Deacon Russell Easter currently serves as the vice chair of the Alfred Street Baptist Church board of deacons. He has served as lay leader of the Evangelism ministry and co-lay leader of one of the church’s thirty discipleship groups. He is one of the primary pre-baptism class instructors and has taught Sunday school. Deacon Easter enjoys caring for and serving others.
Professionally, he is employed with Fairfax County Public Schools as an assessment coach at West Potomac HS. He also served as the school’s Senior Army Instructor for their award-winning Junior ROTC program. Prior to his career in education, Deacon Easter served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army Finance Corps. Before his retirement, he served in numerous financial management roles in the U.S. and abroad.
He received a bachelors degree from Hampton University and masters degree from George Mason University.
He is married to Deacon Earnestine Easter; they have four adult children and five grandchildren.
